Fourth of July 2011

We had a pretty low-key Fourth of July this year because Michaela is just too little to enjoy a parade or a fireworks display. I did want her to wear something festive, and so I purchased this cute little outfit for her on Zulily. The day ended up being very warm and so she didn't wear this for very long, but she sure looked darling in it.

We spent the afternoon and evening at my parents' house. I had discovered Ina Garten's recipe for a Kitchen Clambake a couple of weeks beforehand, and we prepared that for dinner. Let me just tell you that it was super easy and incredibly delicious. I think it will become a Fourth of July tradition for us!

  2. We're reading each other's blogs at virtually the same time! Thank you for your prayers. You are still constantly in mine, too. Your post about Father's Day really struck a cord in me because I have a longing in my heart to give my daughter everything, and that includes a daddy. I can easily imagine how it must feel to know that things are not how they ought to be. Yes, Michael should be right there at your side. Yes, every little child deserves two loving parents.
