Eleven Weeks

Feet at Eleven Weeks

This past week was better than the weeks before, but I still don't feel like I'm completely over the nausea. However, I'm taking less and less of the Zofran and that's a good thing because Zofran has a nasty side effect - constipation. It's always something!

I'm pretty sure this will be my last week of progesterone suppositories and estrogen patches. I'll be all natural in a week.

This week and next will be my last two visits to the RE. After that, I'll be seen by the OB and the perinatologist. I will miss the doctor and the staff at the RE's office, but I won't miss those early morning appointments.

Someone asked how often I'll receive an ultrasound at the OB's. I really don't know. My next appointment with them isn't until the second week of November. I don't know if they will do an ultrasound every time I go in, or not. This is all new to me.

  1. Usually, high-risk pregnancies get U/S much more frequently. I did from mid-pregnancy right up until the kidlet was born.

  2. Since there are criteria for what makes a pregnancy high risk (and age alone is not one), you may not "qualify". However, if you have had a number of intra cervical procedures (sonohysterogram, hysterosalpingogram, hysteroscopy, multiple transfers, etc) it could put you at a higher risk for incompetent cervix. That alone would garner weekly cervical u/s from 15 - 24 wks (and most docs, nurse practitioners, peris, or techs will squeeze in a look at baby :). As someone who suffered from IC (when no one believed that I would), I am an advocate of weekly checks in any woman who has had cervical procedures.

  4. Yay for being almost finished with progesterone, and I marvel again at the pictures you find for these posts. I'm glad to hear that you're beginning to be able to wean yourself off the Zofran-- hopefully in a few weeks you'll be completely free, and all natural!
