Ultrasound #2

The doctor said everything is looking good. There is noticeable growth of both the gestational sack and the yolk sac. He also said that next week's ultrasound should show us the fetal pole and the heartbeat.

I'm feeling better about my symptoms. They come and go, but now I know that's normal. I've experienced some queasiness, and it seems like my digestive system is even more sensitive than usual. I will not be able to eat my mother-in-law's turkey meatloaf again during this pregnancy. It tastes so good, but it really upsets my stomach. Boo hoo.

I am craving fruit. When my stomach was upset yesterday, I found that apple slices were really soothing.

I'm still cranky. My mom can vouch for that. I'm sorry, Mom.

My sleep is messed up. I woke up this morning at 2:30 am and couldn't get back to sleep before the alarm went off at 4:30. I hate that!

Anyway, things are progressing. It's hard to believe, but it's feeling more real all the time.

  2. Yay, one little bean still growing and growing!

I like to think when we waiting moms wake up at night and can't fall back to sleep that it's practice for when our kids get up at night.

  4. No wonder you are cranky...nobody should ever have to get up at 4:30 ever, especially someone who really should be resting as much as possible now!
Just fabulous to see these images. Thank you for sharing all these little details with us.

  5. Yippee, so happy for you! I hope your planning on writing a book about your whole experience this past couple of years. Hey, I even thought of a title...Beauty for Ashes :) What a miracle, a true blessing from God.

  8. This is continued good news (and I stand corrected on the possible emergence of a twin :). Keep doing what you are doing (perhaps work more sleep in in the late afternoon/early evening if that won't completely disrupt your overnight sleep) and before you know it, it will be time for your next visit and the glorious sound of a teeny tiny heart beating.

Sorry about the lack of sleep, that would make me incredibly cranky too...I think I see some naps in your near future. :)

P.S.: I love the music on your blog, so beautiful!

  12. I have followed your blog for some time now. I am very happy for you.

I know that ginger can help a sick tummy. It can come in several forms like ginger tea and sweetened ginger candies or soft ginger pieces. Check with your doc but it might be worth a try.
