One-derful!

Miracle Baby's First Ultrasound

This morning's ultrasound revealed one miracle baby! Yea!

Dr. Dourron said that not only could he see the gestational sack, but he could also see the yolk sac which is something he would not expect to see until the sixth week. He indicated that it was a good thing.

My progesterone was 35 today. Also a good thing.

I will have an ultrasound every week through this first trimester, and they will check my progesterone weekly.

Too tired to write about impressions and feelings. Just very thankful and happy to be blessed like this.

  7. That is the most beautiful sight that I've seen in a very long time! I am praising our Father God for this miracle and tearing up (as usual - I told you I always get teary!) May each day grow more joyful! I love you and it was so wonderful to see you at Aunt Nilja's party! She is pretty amazing for being 90. Hope the DNA continues on for the rest of us! Love You, Marla

  10. This must have been one of the most fantastic things to ever experience!

I realize that it's very common to have many ultrasounds, and must be reassuring, but I wonder if it's truly safe. It took over 30 years to realize that x-rays harmed unborn children and the cellular migration studies have been duplicated in the US and Australia. What is the benefit to the baby from doing so many ultrasounds? I'm an experienced doula and have seen many births and done a lot of research that leads me to question the automatic medical model of pregnancy and birth. That said, however, I also believe that, when NEEDED, medical technology is life-saving, and, in your case, life-giving, and with the hand of God, a miracle.

  17. I am very happy to hear that you will have ultrasounds each week through your first trimester. I had many, many ultrasounds, but nearly as many as that and I know it will be comforting to see your baby so often.
Yes, a yolk sac is a very good sign! When I went for my first u/s at 5 weeks and 1 day, they only saw two gestational sacs and nothing in them. Two weeks later, Chick and Pea's little heartbeats were flickering away!
    Big hugs!
